Passport and Visa

To apply for a visa and travel to India, you need a passport which is valid and does not expire within the next 6 months. All foreigners are required to get a visa for India in their home country. No visa is given on arrival in India. Do make sure you have a multiple entry visa if you are going to leave India for a neighbouring country and return again as a part of your travel plans. Do carry a copy of your passport and your visa with you and also leave a copy back home with a friend or relative. Its always a good idea to carry some extra photographs on your travels.
