Weather

There are three clear seasons in India - summer, winter and the monsoons. The intensity of all varies from region to region, but it would be safe to say that April to September are really hot months in the plains and while the regular tourist avoids summer, there are many visitors who find the romance of the ripe sun-drenched languorous days quite fascinating. October to March is wonderfully cool and pleasant especially in the north; nearer the Himalayas and in the desert of Rajasthan, it actually gets rather cold. South India stays warm and Kerala hot and humid.

The monsoons usually arrive by June end and travel from the south west towards the north east. Unpredictable and life-impacting, the monsoon has attracted many intrepid Travelers to a completely different experience of India.
